Designing Cultural Futures: Emerging Technologies, Architecture, and Urban Experience

Dr. Hao Zhou is an Associate Lecturer in Interaction Design (education-focused) at the University of Sydney’s School of Architecture, Design and Planning. He completed his PhD at the University of New South Wales, where he investigated how artists utilise immersive virtual reality technologies in the conceptualisation and making of art museum installations that foster visitor engagement with cultural heritage and art. More broadly, his work spans interaction and experience design, immersive technologies, and design education, with a particular interest in how emerging technologies can shape educational and cultural encounters across physical and digital spaces. As an educator, he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is engaged to explore creative pedagogies in design and research education.
